New consumer electronics address power and charging needs

New consumer electronics products in Japan aim to solve common power management and battery health concerns.

Sanwa Supply has released the 700-TAP093BK, a compact, direct-plug power strip designed to expand a single wall outlet into multiple connections. It features six AC outlets and three USB ports (one USB Type-C with PD 20W support and two USB Type-A ports), allowing up to nine devices to be connected simultaneously. Its lightweight and swing-plug design makes it suitable for travel and tight spaces.

Additionally, Aeria has introduced the MANTAN DETACHABLE, a specialized USB-C adapter designed to prevent overcharging. The device uses a physical push-rod mechanism to disconnect the cable from the device once it detects that the battery is nearly full (typically at 90% charge or when current drops significantly). Supporting up to 140W USB Power Delivery, the adapter includes a White Mode for smartphones and a Blue Mode for devices like wireless earbuds that stop drawing current once full.
