New dance and theater productions debut in Brazil

New performing arts productions are debuting in Brazil, focusing on historical memory and identity. Coletivo Noroest will premiere “Manifesto de Concreto,” a performance combining dance, theater, and circus. The show revisits the Greve dos Queixadas, noted as the longest strike in Brazilian history, to explore themes of territory, labor, and the struggles of peripheral communities.

In Manaus, the Companhia Transversal de Artes Integradas presents “Matrioska,” a dance-theater monologue created and performed by Daniel Esteves. The production uses autobiographical narratives to explore transmasculine identity and the layers of the transition process. The project was supported by the National Aldir Blanc Policy (PNAB) through the Amazonas State Secretariat of Culture and Creative Economy.
