New Delhi carnival ride accident results in one death

A carnival ride malfunction at Dussehra Ground in the Vikaspuri area of New Delhi has resulted in the death of a 27-year-old woman. The incident occurred at approximately 01:36 AM on October 20, 2026, when the security gate of a ride known as the ‘Mixer’ broke, causing two individuals to fall.

The deceased has been identified as Gudiya, a domestic worker originally from Bihar. The second victim, 35-year-old Ravi, remains in critical but stable condition at Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Hospital.

Following the death, police have added Section 106 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) to the case. Authorities are investigating the incident to determine if negligence or other lapses contributed to the mechanical failure and subsequent injuries.
