New Delhi medical institutions host advanced surgical workshops

Major medical institutions in New Delhi recently hosted specialized surgical workshops focused on advanced minimally invasive techniques.

Apollo Spectra Hospital held the 13th International Live Operative Workshop on Basic and Advanced Techniques of PCNL (PERCON 2026). The two-day event, held on September 19 and 20, 2026, focused on Percutaneous Nephrolithotomy for treating complex kidney stones. The workshop included live surgical demonstrations and hands-on training, attracting over 1,000 participants from 28 countries, including faculty from Malaysia, Nepal, the Philippines, Iraq, Thailand, and Ethiopia.

Separately, Vardhman Mahavir Medical College and Safdarjung Hospital organized India’s first two-day workshop dedicated to robotic cardiac surgery. Held on September 17 and 18, the Asia Pacific Robotic Cardiac Workshop featured live robotic-assisted, minimal-access surgical cases and over seven hours of hands-on simulation sessions for cardiac surgeons.
