New Delhi venues reimagine art and design through domestic settings

New Delhi is seeing a shift in how contemporary art and design are presented, moving away from traditional gallery formats toward immersive, domestic environments.

GAP Contemporary, formerly Gallery Art Positive, has launched a new exhibition titled ‘The Still Life of Sentiments’. Curated by Priyanshi S, the 5,000 sq. ft. space in Lado Sarai is designed to function as a lived-in home, featuring a living room, study, and anti-room to integrate art with furniture, lighting, and greenery. The exhibition runs from 11 September to 10 October 2026.

In a similar approach, HōmAnAn has opened an experiential showhouse in South Delhi. Curated by Anubha Aneja, the 4,000 sq. ft. residence showcases over 40 homegrown Indian brands. The space is designed to allow visitors to experience design through texture, light, and scale within a functional domestic setting rather than a standard catalogue display.
