Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis used his final cabinet meeting before the summer recess to urge all ministers to appear more frequently on television, especially in regional outlets, and to explain the government’s work ahead of the 2027 parliamentary elections. He stressed that the administration has sufficient time until 2027 to complete all ministry deliverables and highlighted that the upcoming Thessaloniki International Fair (DETH) will showcase the first pillars of Greece’s 2030 plan.

At the same time, the opposition PASOK intensified its attack on the newly formed Greek Left Alliance (ELAS), accusing the party of opaque financing and claiming that its operational costs, staff salaries, campaigns and events are covered solely by member contributions, which under Greek law cannot exceed €20 000 per donor per year. ELAS defended its funding model, stating that all expenses are paid by members in compliance with the legal limits.

Former Prime Minister Antonis Samaras criticised New Democracy’s family‑policy agenda, labeling it a “woke agenda” and describing the party as “mutated”. Minister Domna Michailidou responded that inclusion and diversity are integral to the family policy, a stance that provoked further criticism from Samaras and other party figures.

The government also reiterated that Greece will not privatise water supplies and that the country retains the cheapest water prices in Europe.
