New Democracy Holds Slight Edge over ELAS in Achaia Poll

A Data Consultants poll commissioned by the newspaper Πελοπόννησος was conducted in Achaia from 1‑8 July 2026. In the intended‑vote question, New Democracy (ND) received 21 % and the Greek Left Coalition (ELAS) 18.7 %, a narrow 2.3‑point lead for ND. The survey also modelled a hypothetical new party led by former prime‑minister Antonis Samaras, which would capture 9.7 % of the vote and reduce the ND‑ELAS gap to just 0.3 percentage points.

When undecided voters (15.4 %) are redistributed, the projected shares rise to 27.1 % for ND and 24.1 % for ELAS, with PASOK at 11.1 % and Hope for Democracy at 8.8 %. The poll shows higher ND support among voters over 71, while ELAS performs best among the 36‑47 age group. Geographically, ND leads strongly in Aigialia, ELAS tops in Kalavryta‑Erymanthos, and the two parties are almost tied in Patras. The high share of undecided voters (7.3 % for other parties, plus 3.7 % white/invalid and 3.2 % abstention) indicates a fluid electoral landscape ahead of the national elections.
