New Democracy Keeps Lead Over Greek Left in Latest Polls, PASOK Slips

Two recent Greek opinion polls show New Democracy maintaining a solid lead over the Greek Left (EL.A.S). In the GPO survey, New Democracy registers 29.3% versus EL.A.S 16.6%, a gap of 12.7 points. The ALCO poll records New Democracy at 24.6% against EL.A.S 15.3%, a 9.3‑point margin. Both parties have risen by about 0.6 percentage points since June.

PASOK’s support continues to decline, falling to an estimated 10.8% electoral influence in the GPO poll and 9.7% in the ALCO poll. The minor party of Maria Karystianou drops to 7% (GPO) and 6.4% (ALCO). A potential new party led by former prime minister Antonis Samaras attracts roughly 12% support in both surveys.

Public evaluation of the government remains largely negative, with 68.6% of respondents in the GPO poll expressing disapproval, a slight improvement from 72.2% recorded in April.
