New Democracy leads Greek polls with 26.5% support

The first post-summer opinion poll conducted by Interview for Politic shows New Democracy maintaining a steady lead in Greece with 26.5% of the vote. The Greek Left Solidarity Alliance (ELA. S.) follows in second place at 14.5%, a decrease from 15.8% in July, widening the gap between the two parties to 12 percentage points. PASOK remains in third place with 10%, followed by Hellenic Solution at 9%.

Other notable shifts include a decline for Maria Karytianou’s Elpida party, which fell to 3.6%, and a slight increase for Syriza to 2%. Undecided voters have risen to 10.6%, contributing to a total of 16.6% of respondents who are not aligned with the specifically listed parties, indicating high political volatility.

Regarding leadership, Kyriakos Mitsotakis leads in trust for governing the country with 29.3%, followed by the “none” option at 19.2% and Alexis Tsipras at 13.4%. Public sentiment regarding the timing of elections is divided: 51% of respondents favor immediate elections, while 46% prefer the government to complete its current term. Additionally, 60% of citizens expressed a preference for a government to be formed from the first round of voting.
