New Democracy Party launches new Political Committee structure in Greece

The New Democracy (ND) party held the inaugural meeting of its Political Committee after the election of party secretary Konstantinos Kypranakis. The committee, comprising the elected members and the 17 ONNED representatives chosen by the party conference, was tasked with selecting policy areas that correspond to the 20 ministries.

The new operating model aims to provide a more organized, thematic and substantive participation in policy making. Members will develop concrete proposals for the current government term and for shaping the next ND programme, with Kypranakis stressing that the proposals must be applicable, cost‑estimated and realistic. More than half of the committee’s members attended the session, signalling a move toward a systematic and participatory approach that links the party base, society and decision‑makers.
