New Democracy seeks third self-governing government in Greece

Alexandra Sdoukou, spokesperson for the New Democracy party, has described the pursuit of a third consecutive self-governing government as a ‘national necessity’. Speaking to ERT News, she argued that achieving a parliamentary majority is essential to maintain economic growth, political stability, and the implementation of ongoing reforms.

Sdoukou emphasized that the party's electoral goal remains unchanged despite recent polling showing the party leading but below the threshold for a majority. She stated that seeking self-governance is not a ‘whim’ but a strategic move to prevent the country from returning to periods of political and economic uncertainty.

Regarding regional development, Sdoukou highlighted ongoing projects in Northern Greece, specifically mentioning the Flyover project in Thessaloniki, which is expected to be completed next year. She noted that the government's success will be judged by its tangible results and its impact on the daily lives of citizens.
