New Democracy spokesperson criticizes Alexis Tsipras and EU decision-making

Alexandra Sdoukou, spokesperson for the New Democracy party, has criticized former Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras regarding his comments on recent unrest in France. Sdoukou accused Tsipras of attempting to politically exploit the situation, suggesting his remarks could be interpreted as encouraging civil disorder. She noted that while the social and economic pressures seen in France are concerning for Europe, she believes Greece has matured beyond the deadlocks experienced 15 years ago.

In a separate discussion regarding the European Summit, Sdoukou addressed the need for faster decision-making processes within the European Union. She highlighted that the coexistence of 27 member states with diverse economic and geopolitical priorities often leads to political hesitation.

Sdoukou emphasized the role of the Greek Prime Minister in securing specific outcomes at the summit, including addressing high energy costs to support households and businesses, and proposing measures to allow member states to take extraordinary actions during periods of organized migration pressure.
