New England Patriots defeat New York Jets as Romeo Doubs goes to injured reserve

The New England Patriots defeated the New York Jets 26-19 in an AFC East matchup. Quarterback Drake Maye recorded three touchdown passes, including a 42-yard score to receiver Romeo Doubs in the first quarter.

However, the victory was overshadowed by an injury to Doubs, who suffered a shoulder injury while making the diving touchdown catch. The Patriots announced on Monday that Doubs has been placed on injured reserve. He is expected to miss at least four games and will not be eligible to return until after the team’s bye week, with a potential return date of November 29 against the Chargers.

Doubs becomes the third Patriots wide receiver to be placed on injured reserve during the 2026 season, following previous injuries to A.J. Brown and Mack Hollins. The team currently has four wide receivers remaining on its 53-man roster.
