New England Patriots evaluate rookie tight ends Eli Raridon and Tanner Arkin at training camp

The New England Patriots entered their 2026 training camp with a crowded tight‑end room, featuring both drafted and undrafted rookies. Third‑round pick Eli Raridon impressed coaches and teammates with his ability to contribute as a receiver and blocker. Head coach Mike Vrabel praised his learning speed, while quarterback Drake Maye noted Raridon’s developing chemistry. Veteran tight end Hunter Henry called Raridon a "bright future" and highlighted his classroom‑to‑field progress.

Undrafted rookie Tanner Arkin also earned positive remarks. Vrabel highlighted Arkin’s competitive spirit, quick learning, and consistent physical play, saying the young player “has learned what to do quickly.” Arkin, who signed as a free agent after a primarily blocking college career, is one of seven tight ends competing for depth‑chart spots behind Henry. Both rookies are expected to continue earning reps as the Patriots shape their offensive options for the upcoming season.
