New England Patriots make roster moves to accommodate Brenden Schooler

The New England Patriots have announced several roster changes to facilitate the return of Pro Bowl special teams standout Brenden Schooler. The team waived outside linebacker Jose Ramirez from the 53-man roster, creating two available spots.

In addition to Ramirez's release, the Patriots signed rookie cornerback Al’zillion Hamilton to the practice squad. To accommodate Hamilton, the team released offensive lineman Da’Metrius Weatherspoon from the practice squad. Hamilton, a former Fresno State player, joins the squad after going undrafted in the 2026 class.
