New England Patriots place Harold Landry on PUP list

The New England Patriots have placed edge rusher Harold Landry on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list to begin the season. Landry, who led the team last season with 8.5 sacks, is recovering from knee surgery performed during the offseason. His status for the season opener in Seattle remains uncertain, though he has recently been seen participating in conditioning drills.

Additionally, special teams player Brenden Schooler will begin the season on the non-football injury (NFI) list. To bolster the offensive line, the Patriots traded a 2027 sixth-round pick to the Minnesota Vikings for offensive tackle Walter Rouse and a 2027 seventh-round pick.

Head coach Mike Vrabel stated that the team is being cautious with the injured players, noting, “They’re here. They’re rehabbing. They’re working through the return to play.”
