New England Patriots training camp highlights and roster outlook

During Day 7 of the New England Patriots’ 2026 training camp, rookie Gabe Jacas made his debut as the team ran unscripted drills. Quarterback Drake Maye threw an interception that was picked off by safety Dell Pettus, while the defense recorded two more picks, including one by rookie Karon Prunty. Wide receiver A.J. Brown caught a 20‑yard pass after a back‑shoulder throw from Maye, and the Patriots’ offense and defense traded momentum throughout the session.

A separate analysis projected the Patriots’ 53‑man roster after seven practices. The quarterback group remains Drake Maye, Tommy DeVito and Behren Morton. Running backs Rhamondre Stevenson, TreVeyon Henderson and Lan Larison are slated as the top three, with rookie Jam Miller also in contention. Wide receivers A.J. Brown, Romeo Doubs, Mack Hollins, Kyle Williams, DeMario Douglas and Efton Chism III are expected to make the roster, while tight ends Hunter Henry, Eli Raridon and Tanner Arkin round out the position groups. Coach Mike Vrabel’s staff continues to evaluate depth players as the preseason approaches.
