New England Revolution defeat Columbus Crew 3-1

The New England Revolution defeated the Columbus Crew 3-1 on Sunday, ending the Crew's three-game winning streak. Carles Gil led the Revolution with one goal and two assists.

Brais Méndez opened the scoring for New England in the eighth minute. Matt Polster equalized for the Crew in the 32nd minute following a header from Mamadou Fofana. Dor Turgeman then regained the lead for the Revolution in the 41st minute. Carles Gil capped the scoring in the 79th minute with a chipped shot.

New England dominated the match statistically, outshooting Columbus 21-7 and recording 11 shots on target compared to the Crew's single attempt. Columbus goalkeeper Patrick Schulte recorded eight saves during the match.
