New extreme metal releases reviewed

Recent reviews highlight new releases in the extreme metal genre. Temple Guard, a metalcore band from Nottingham, has released 'Citadel in Flames' via Eco-Defense Records. The eight-track album blends metalcore, hardcore punk, thrash, and death metal, addressing themes of ecological collapse, genocide in Gaza, and religious dogma.

Additionally, Noctule, led by former Svalbard vocalist Serena Cherry, has released 'Extinguish Thy Flame'. This album draws inspiration from the video game Elden Ring, creating a heavy metal soundtrack that reflects the game's atmosphere through tracks dedicated to various bosses and settings within 'The Lands Between'.
