New family support initiatives launched in Italy

In Cosenza, the Agenzia delle Entrate has inaugurated a ‘Baby Pit Stop Unicef’. This dedicated space is designed to support breastfeeding and parenting in public settings, providing a private and comfortable environment for mothers and infants. The project, supported by UNICEF, aims to reduce obstacles for families accessing public services and workplaces.

In Arezzo, a proposal has been made to establish a heated nursery to assist families during the ‘Città del Natale’ festivities. Local councilor Lucia De Robertis introduced the idea to address the needs of parents with newborns during the winter event. Mayor Marcello Comanducci expressed interest in seeking funding for the project, while also noting that over sixty public restrooms will be available during the celebrations.
