New film releases include Insidious: Out of the Further and Khalifa-The Ruler

Several new films are scheduled for theatrical release on August 21, 2026, including the sixth installment of the horror franchise, ‘Insidious: Out of the Further’. Directed by Jacob Chase and starring Lin Shaye and Sam Spruell, the film follows a young mother named Gemma who can enter the purgatorial realm known as ‘The Further’.

Other notable releases include the Malayalam action thriller ‘Khalifa-The Ruler’, starring Prithviraj Sukumaran and Mohanlal, which follows a gold smuggling mastermind. The Telugu film ‘Irumudi’, featuring Ravi Teja, focuses on a father undertaking the Ayyappa Deeksha. Additionally, the Malayalam film ‘Bethlehem Kudumba Unit’ and the English animated film ‘PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie’ are among the week's theatrical offerings.
