New film releases include Le Corset and Les Misérables

Several new films are featured in recent cinema reviews, including Louis Clichy’s animation 'Le Corset' and Fred Cavayé’s adaptation of 'Les Misérables'.

'Le Corset' is an animated feature set in the Beauce region during the late 1980s. It follows Christophe, a young boy with scoliosis who wears an orthopedic corset, as he navigates family farming struggles and discovers music and first love.

Fred Cavayé’s 'Les Misérables' is a large-scale historical production with a budget of 34 million euros. Starring Vincent Lindon and Tahar Rahim, the film focuses on Jean Valjean’s struggle to escape Inspector Javert while navigating an unequal society.

Other notable releases include Andreï Zviaguintsev’s 'Minotaure', described as a fierce allegory of autocracy, and Eivind Landsvik’s 'Low Expectations', a film centered on a musician's return to Oslo following a burnout.
