New film releases: Juste une illusion, Vlaamse Paradise, and Charlie Harper

Recent film releases include the comedy-drama ‘Juste une illusion’ (2026), directed by Olivier Nakache and Éric Toledano. Set in 1985, the story follows twelve-year-old Vincent Dayan in a Parisian suburb as he navigates puberty, family tensions, and his upcoming bar mitzvah.

In Belgium, ‘Vlaamse Paradise’ directed by Bob Colaers offers an action-heavy narrative. The film follows Suleyman, who returns to a dilapidated apartment block after seven years in prison, only to find himself caught in a violent confrontation between gang leaders and police.

Additionally, ‘Charlie Harper’ (2025), directed by Tom Dean and Mac Eldridge, is a romantic comedy that utilizes a non-chronological structure. The film explores themes of memory and personal development through the relationship of two characters reflecting on their past choices.
