New Fire Brigade Station Planned on A14 Near Termoli, Italy
On 31 July, the National Fire Brigade and Autostrade per l'Italia signed an agreement to build a new permanent fire brigade station for the Termoli district. The facility will be located in the former Riovivo Ovest service area at kilometre 476 of the A14 highway, a strategic spot to shorten response times on the motorway and surrounding territory. Autostrade per l'Italia will fully fund the project, act as the contracting authority, and oversee design, tendering and construction in coordination with the fire brigade. Once completed, the modern complex – featuring vehicle bays, operational rooms, offices, training spaces and external areas – will be provided to the fire department free of charge for use as its new base.
The agreement extends the collaboration protocol between the highway operator and the fire service, originally launched in 2022 and renewed through 2026, aiming to improve road safety and emergency response along Italy’s main transport corridors.
