New Flinders High School in Shellharbour to Open 2029

The New South Wales Government has unveiled designs for a new public secondary school in Flinders, Shellharbour, slated to open for Term 1, 2029. The facility will accommodate 750 students, sit beside Flinders Public School and feature 33 modern classrooms, specialist workshops for science, woodwork and metalwork, a covered outdoor learning area, a multipurpose hall, a playing field and a library.

Education Minister Prue Car said the project is fully funded and will be the first public high school built in the Shellharbour electorate in 55 years, easing pressure on nearby Warilla High School. Principal Greg Wells welcomed the school, noting it will provide a seamless transition from primary to secondary education for the growing Flinders and Shell Cove communities.
