New Gabriela Mistral collection explores nature and imagination

The book ‘Cuentamundo, flora, fauna y otros seres fantásticos’ has been released, featuring a selection of texts by Chilean writer Gabriela Mistral. Edited in Mexico by Fondo de Cultura Económica as part of the ‘Los Especiales de A la Orilla del Viento’ collection, the work was curated by Jaime Quesada.

The publication uses short stories centered on elements of the natural world, including roses, zebras, willows, pomegranates, rabbits, snails, and crickets. Reading mediator José Cruz Domínguez noted that the book encourages readers to observe their environment more closely through Mistral’s descriptive language and accompanying illustrations.
