New graphic novels feature Henry David Thoreau and Audrey Hepburn

Two new graphic novels are scheduled for release in September 2026, focusing on historical figures and philosophical themes.

Catherine Meurisse’s 'Le Clan des Walden' explores the life of naturalist thinker Henry David Thoreau. Using humor and fiction rather than scientific didacticism, the work examines Thoreau’s attempt to live a simple life in communion with nature by building a cabin in the woods. The narrative follows his struggles with wilderness survival and his interactions with local animals.

'La Guerre d'Audrey', written by Salva Rubio and illustrated by Loreto Aroca, is a biographical graphic novel about Audrey Hepburn. The story focuses on a turbulent period of her life between 1940 and 1945, when she was a young teenager living in the Nazi-occupied Netherlands after being moved from England. The book depicts her efforts to pursue her dream of becoming a dancer amidst the dangers of the Second World War.
