New Hampshire holds primary elections for key Senate and House seats

New Hampshire voters participated in primary elections to select nominees for several key races ahead of the November general elections. The contests include significant battles for Senate and House seats, as well as local legislative positions.

In the Republican primary for the Senate seat vacated by retiring Senator Jeanne Shaheen, former Senator John Sununu is a prominent candidate seeking the nomination. In the Democratic primary for the same seat, Representative Chris Pappas is the front-runner but faces a challenge from Karishma Manzur, a member of the Democratic Socialists of America.

Local results in the Upper Valley include Republican victories for Sullivan County House District 8, where Jonathan F. Stone and Catherine Peschke secured seats. In the Executive Council District 2 primary, Tobin Menard earned approximately 53% of the vote to defeat Kim Strathdee.
