New healthcare infrastructure projects launched in Limache and Cusco
In Limache, Chile, a new Primary Care Urgency Service (SAPU) is set to begin operations at the CESFAM Limache Viejo on October 25. The service will provide medical care during nights, weekends, and holidays. On weekdays, it will operate from 5:00 PM to midnight, while on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, it will run continuously from 8:00 AM to midnight. This expansion aims to manage low-complexity emergencies and reduce the clinical load on the Hospital Santo Tomás de Limache.
In the Cusco region of Peru, the Regional Government has commenced construction on contingency infrastructure for the Colquemarca Health Center in the Chumbivilcas province. With an investment of S/ 5.3 million, the 150-day project involves installing prefabricated modules to ensure medical services remain available while the main health facility undergoes improvements and expansion. The temporary site will include areas for outpatient consultations, emergencies, hospitalization, maternity care, radiology, and clinical laboratories, benefiting over 10,500 residents.
