New independent cafes open in Vienna and Bonn
New independent cafes have opened in Vienna and Bonn, marking fresh additions to their respective local gastronomy scenes.
In Vienna's Mariahilf district, Melanie Mayerl has launched Mels Place on Hirschengasse. The cafe focuses on a home-like atmosphere, offering homemade pastries based on traditional family recipes, including vegan and flourless options. The menu also features savory items such as focaccia, sandwiches, and breakfast snacks.
In Bonn, 21-year-old entrepreneur Nashwan Sabah is opening Il Mio Caffè at Friedensplatz. Following a six-month renovation of a former mobile repair shop, the 25-seat establishment features a modern interior with leather seating and vinyl elements. The menu includes various coffee roasts, matcha variations, smoothies, bagels, and bowls.
