New Italian novels explore themes of identity and exile

Two new Italian novels exploring themes of identity, travel, and roots have been announced.

Antonio Galati has released “Radice d’esilio,” published by I Libri di Icaro. The novel follows the lives of two women, Celia and Edvige, across the 20th century. The narrative examines the impact of exile, migration, and the preservation of memory as characters navigate changing borders and the tension between staying and leaving.

Giuseppe Lalinga’s debut novel, “Il Gitano in poltrona. Storia di una bugia diventata destinazione,” published by Edigrafema, will be presented in Matera. The story traces a journey from Marconia through London and the Dominican Republic, framing travel as a means of self-discovery and a path back to one's authentic sense of home.
