New Japanese culinary ventures open in Sakae and Shiraoka
New culinary ventures are opening in Japan, highlighting diverse approaches to traditional and modern dining. In the Sakae and Joshi-dai area, ‘Shunsai Ryori to Men Sakuraya’ opened in May 2026. The establishment features a dual concept: a lunch service specializing in soy sauce ramen made with house-made dashi, and an evening service offering seasonal creative Japanese cuisine based on daily ingredient availability.
In Shiraoka, Saitama Prefecture, ‘Jikaseimen Sekita’ is set to open at the end of August 2026. Supported by Tamura Co., Ltd., chef Sekine is launching the shop with a focus on ramen that incorporates Japanese culinary techniques, such as a whole chicken and seafood broth. To manage the operational challenge of serving both ramen and fried rice alone, the chef will utilize a specialized small-scale fried rice cooking robot to ensure efficiency without compromising quality.
