Japanese television dramas scheduled for October premieres

Several new Japanese television dramas are scheduled to premiere in October.

In the Kantele and Fuji TV production ‘Wheat, Butter, Revenge, and...’, Rikka Ihara stars as Michiru Nozaki, a baker who experiences a time leap after being betrayed by her husband and assistant. The story follows her attempt to rebuild her life and seek revenge. Ryoya Shimekake of Travis Japan will play Yugo Ino, a cooking instructor who becomes a key figure in her second chance at life.

TV Tokyo will premiere ‘Life Trade’ on October 8. Based on a manga by Sakura Ikoma, the drama features Fumika Baba and Yoko Maki in dual roles as two women—a cabaret hostess and a housewife—whose lives are swapped after being struck by lightning. The series explores how they navigate each other's vastly different social environments and personal struggles.
