New Japan's G1 Climax 36 Finalizes Field with AEW Wrestlers and Qualifiers

New Japan Pro-Wrestling has confirmed the participants for its G1 Climax 36 tournament, which will run from July 11 in Chicago to August 16 in Tokyo. Twenty wrestlers are divided into two blocks, with All Elite Wrestling representatives Konosuke Takeshita and Gabe Kidd among the confirmed entrants.

Four remaining spots will be decided in play‑in matches at Korakuen Hall on June 23 and July 6. The match‑ups include Taichi vs. Yuto‑Ice, YOSHI‑HASHI vs. Aaron Wolf, El Phantasma vs. Ryohei Oiwa, and Yujiro Takahashi vs. OSKAR. Winners of these qualifiers will complete the tournament roster.

The round‑robin format sees each competitor face all others in their block, with the top two advancing to the semifinals and the final scheduled for August 16. AEW talent may miss upcoming AEW shows while competing in Japan, but are expected to return for later events such as All In London.
