New Jersey ANCHOR tax relief payments to begin September 15
New Jersey taxpayers are receiving ANCHOR confirmation letters following their distribution on August 10. The program provides tax relief to qualifying homeowners and renters based on 2025 residency, income, and age.
Homeowners with gross incomes up to $250,000 and renters with incomes up to $150,000 are eligible for a maximum benefit of $1,500. Senior homeowners and renters may receive an additional $250, bringing the total maximum to $1,750.
Payments are scheduled to begin on September 15. For most individuals under 65 who do not collect Social Security or Railroad Retirement disability, payments will be issued automatically based on previous tax filings. However, September 15 also serves as the deadline for taxpayers to update banking information or request a paper check instead of direct deposit.
A separate deadline of November 2 applies to those who must manually file a combined PAS-1 application, including seniors aged 65 or older, those collecting Social Security or Railroad Retirement disability, or individuals who did not receive a confirmation letter but believe they are eligible.
