New Jersey Devils place Nick Bjugstad on LTIR and Stefan Noesen on waivers

The New Jersey Devils have made several roster and salary cap management moves. Center Nick Bjugstad has been placed on Long-Term Injured Reserve (LTIR) following pectoral surgery to repair an offseason training injury. His recovery is expected to take four to six months, potentially sidelining him until late January or late March.

To facilitate these roster adjustments, the Devils placed veteran winger Stefan Noesen on waivers. If Noesen clears, the team can send him to the AHL Utica Comets, allowing them to bury $1.225 million of his salary to gain cap flexibility. This move is intended to create space for the return of defenseman Johnathan Kovacevic from injured reserve.

Additionally, the team executed a procedural recall of prospect defenseman Anton Silayev from the Comets. While Silayev is expected to return to the minors, the move was designed to manage his cap hit by locking in his base salary before his potential performance bonuses impact his cap number later in the season.
