New Jersey faces heavy rain from Hurricane Isaias remnants

The remnants of Hurricane Isaias are expected to bring heavy rain to New Jersey on Sunday. While meteorologists describe the weather as “inclement, not dangerous,” the rainfall could exceed one inch in some areas, leading to localized ponding.

Several community events have been canceled or postponed due to the weather. In Ocean County, the Columbus Day parade and Italian Festival have been moved to October 18, while the Toy Run is postponed until November and the Breast Cancer Walk has been canceled. Other impacted events include the End of Summer Food Truck Festival in Atlantic County, the Baylor Massacre Memorial Ceremony in Bergen County, and East Brunswick Day in Middlesex County.
