New Jersey Gov. Mikie Sherrill backs veteran Democrats in midterm races
Governor Mikie Sherrill of New Jersey, a former Navy helicopter pilot, has used her Mission to Deliver political action committee to endorse a slate of Democratic candidates with military or national‑security experience ahead of the 2026 midterm elections. The first round of endorsements covers 13 House and Senate hopefuls in competitive districts, including Massachusetts Rep. Seth Moulton, North Carolina Rep. Don Davis, New Hampshire Rep. Maggie Goodlander, and several others targeting Republican incumbents.
Among the endorsements is Florida Democrat Bale Dalton, who is running for the 7th Congressional District seat held by Republican Rep. Cory Mills. Sherrill highlighted Dalton’s shared Navy background and public‑service record, calling him a strong candidate to flip the district. The PAC has raised just under $1.2 million, largely from labor‑linked contributors, and plans to continue supporting veteran candidates in key battleground states as the Democratic Party looks toward the 2028 presidential cycle.
