New Jersey Governor Sherrill Announces 770 Free World Cup Tickets for Residents

Governor Mikie Sherrill announced that 770 free tickets to FIFA World Cup 2026 matches at MetLife Stadium will be given to New Jersey residents. The tickets, covering five group‑stage and two knockout‑round games (excluding the final), are being distributed through a partnership involving the state’s Governor’s Office, the New York‑New Jersey Host Committee, Uber and Hackensack Meridian Health.

Allocations include 500 tickets for youth soccer clubs, families of deployed New Jersey National Guard members and Bergen County first responders; 200 tickets for frontline health‑care workers, pediatric patients and seriously ill children; and 70 tickets for participants in the Host Committee’s Welcome World Rewards program that rewards support for local businesses during the tournament.
