New Jersey heat wave continues with risk of thunderstorms

New Jersey is experiencing its fifth consecutive day of a heat wave, though conditions have become less humid compared to previous days. High temperatures are expected to remain near 90 degrees through Tuesday, with a transition to the 80s expected by Wednesday.

A heat advisory remains in effect for the urban corridor of northeastern New Jersey until 7 p.m. Monday, as heat indices may reach the upper 90s. While much of the state remains below advisory criteria, temperatures will remain high.

In addition to the heat, there is a risk of strong to severe thunderstorms on Monday evening. These storms may bring heavy rain, gusty winds, hail, and lightning, posing localized risks of flooding and wind damage.
