New Jersey Highlights Top South Jersey Schools in SAT Rankings and Lighthouse Awards
Six South Jersey high schools placed among the top 100 SAT‑scoring schools in New Jersey. Marine Academy of Technology and Environmental Science (Ocean County) ranked 6th with a combined average of 1,390, followed by Cherry Hill High School East (1,208, 53rd), Haddonfield Memorial High School (1,208, 54th), Haddon Township High School (1,172, 78th), Gloucester County Institute of Technology (1,155, 92nd) and Lenape High School (1,155, 95th).
In a separate recognition, the New Jersey Department of Education awarded Lighthouse Awards to four South Jersey districts for advancing equity and diversity. Vineland School District earned the award for diversifying its teacher workforce, raising teacher diversity from 16% to 19%. Lower Cape May Regional School District and Salem City School District each received awards for increasing equity in AP/IB enrollment, with Hispanic/Latino participation climbing to 46.6% and 70.4% respectively, and significant gains for students with disabilities. Penns Grove‑Carneys Point Regional School District was honored for expanding equity in dual‑enrollment programs.
