New Jersey notary investigation sparks FETÖ internal dispute over Gülen's will

Internal disputes have resurfaced within the FETÖ organization regarding the authenticity of a will allegedly belonging to the late leader Fetullah Gülen. Ahmet Dönmez, a former reporter for the now-closed Zaman newspaper, shared a document on social media claiming to prove irregularities in the document.

The document, issued by the New Jersey Department of the Treasury on July 14, 2026, indicates that the notary involved, Ahmet İdil, is under investigation. The state has decided to suspend İdil’s notary commission after determining he violated New Jersey notary rules. Specifically, the investigation found that İdil failed to meet with Gülen in person, communicated with witnesses only via telephone, and did not record the transaction in the notary log.

The controversy centers on Cevdet Türkyolu, who was credited with announcing the will and is named as its executor. While members of the organization have engaged in heated debates on social media regarding the legitimacy of the will, there has been no official response from the organization's leadership in Pennsylvania or from Ahmet İdil.
