New Jersey prepares for November 3 general election
New Jersey officials are actively recruiting poll workers for the upcoming general election on November 3. The Division of Elections and various county offices are seeking residents to assist during the early voting period, which runs from October 24 through November 1, as well as on Election Day. Poll workers can earn $300 for working on Election Day or $21.43 per hour during the early voting window.
To qualify, applicants must be U.S. citizens, New Jersey residents, registered voters in their county of residence, and at least 16 years old. Those under 18 do not need to be registered to vote. Candidates for elected office in the current election are ineligible to serve.
Voters in the state have three methods for casting ballots: in-person on Election Day, through the Vote by Mail (VBM) program, or via the early voting program. In Camden County, for example, VBM applications must be received by the County Clerk by October 27, and completed ballots must be received by the close of polls on Election Day or postmarked by November 9.
