New Jersey school board elections feature multiple candidates in Parsippany and South Orange‑Maplewood

In the Parsippany‑Troy Hills Board of Education, seven candidates are competing for three open seats after the filing deadline passed on Monday. The volunteer nine‑member board governs the township’s public schools, setting policy, approving budgets and hiring the superintendent. Election day is scheduled for November 3.

Meanwhile, the South Orange‑Maplewood Board of Education has four candidates seeking three seats, with election day also set for November 3, 2026. Candidates include Patricia Azeez, who highlighted her background as an economist and martial‑arts teacher in her campaign announcement.

Both contests will determine the composition of local education boards that oversee district policies, budgets and long‑term goals for their respective New Jersey communities.
