New Jersey toddler given Narcan after cocaine test; caretaker arrested

Police in Wildwood, New Jersey administered two doses of Narcan to a 2‑year‑old who was having trouble breathing and was later taken to Cooper University Hospital Cape Regional. A blood test showed the child’s blood contained cocaine.

Caretaker Alexander T. Moles, 39, of Ringwood was charged with child endangerment, possession of cocaine, drug paraphernalia and prescription drugs after a search of the Airbnb revealed pills, tapentadol packets and a white powdery substance. He was detained at the Cape May County Correctional Facility and released at a hearing.

The incident highlights concerns over drug exposure among children and has prompted legal action against the adult responsible.
