New Jersey woman charged in fatal Pennsylvania motorcycle crash
A New Jersey woman is facing homicide charges following a fatal motorcycle collision in western Pennsylvania. Bernadette Ann Cobb, 55, of Brick, reportedly drifted into the path of a Harley-Davidson on Route 332 in Brady Township, killing both the driver, Anthony M. Sones, and the passenger, Miranda S. Wormuth.
According to police affidavits, Cobb claimed the accident occurred after an insect flew into her SUV, causing her to lose focus on the road. While her passenger attempted to intervene, the vehicle struck the motorcycle before Cobb's SUV went down an embankment. Authorities noted that while Cobb did not appear impaired at the scene, she had an existing ignition interlock restriction on her driver's license.
