Zaprešić expands Falečnjak zone as Končar and Kraš launch new plants

County prefect Stjepan Kožić and Zaprešić mayor Željko Turk met to review development projects in the Zagreb County town. The agenda included the construction of a new production plant by Končar and a parallel expansion plan by Kraš. Both firms will invest in new facilities to strengthen the local industrial base. The mayor announced a request to the ministry for an additional 50 hectares of state land to enlarge the Falečnjak economic zone; the initial 25 hectares have already been sold to investors, indicating strong demand. The expansion aims to create new jobs, attract further investors and increase the region’s investment appeal. The meeting also covered the implementation of new building, spatial‑planning, illegal‑construction and affordable‑housing laws that will shape future growth in the county.
