New literary releases from Thrity Umrigar and Claudia Marin

Several new literary works have been released. Thrity Umrigar’s novel, ‘Il linguaggio segreto delle carezze’, is now available in bookstores and digital formats. The story follows Remy, a man who moved from India to America to distance himself from his roots, but returns to Bombay to adopt a child. During his return, he reconnects with his mother, Shirin, and uncovers family secrets through an old photograph.

Additionally, journalist Claudia Marin has released her third novel, ‘Il futuro che eravamo’, published by Rubbettino. The coming-of-age story explores the memories of siblings Luca and Camilla, growing up in Naples between the 1970s and 1980s. The narrative examines family bonds, the passage of time, and how the past influences the present, particularly as Luca faces a premature illness.
