New literary works released in Italy focusing on labor rights and women
Two new books have been introduced, addressing social and human themes through different lenses.
Davide Bozza has released “Diciassette maggio. Pane e spine: è il lavoro senza tutele,” a volume inspired by news reports concerning the working class. The book is dedicated to Alessandro Panariello, a 21-year-old worker who died in May 2024 after being crushed by a steel plate at a construction site in Scafati. Bozza, a supermarket worker and representative for FILCAMS CGIL, uses 14 chapters to explore themes of precariousness, workplace injustice, and the struggle for labor rights.
In a different vein, poet and jurist Davide Rocco Colacrai has published “D di donna. Concerto per la resistenza e l’addio” through Edizioni Il Foglio Letterario. The collection consists of 25 poems organized into six chapters. The work focuses on the resilience of real women, portraying them as figures of both fragility and strength navigating modern society.
