New luxury villa accommodations to open in Atami and Akune

Two new high-end villa accommodations are scheduled to open in Japan in late 2026.

In Atami, Shizuoka Prefecture, the dog-friendly hot spring resort ‘Yururi Atami with DOGS’ will launch a new annex called ‘Relostay VILLA Atami’ on October 5, 2026. The annex features 20 rooms, each equipped with a private semi-open-air hot spring bath. Some ground-floor rooms include dedicated dog gardens suitable for large breeds. The facility will also offer a ‘Concierge Stay’ plan, providing personalized services such as afternoon tea and dining assistance for up to four groups per day.

In Akune, Kagoshima Prefecture, Keio Development Co., Ltd. will open ‘Auberge RISORA -Rin-’ on November 6, 2026. This villa-style auberge consists of five units situated in a rural landscape surrounded by bamboo groves. Each villa exceeds 190 square meters and features an open-air bath supplied by a private on-site spring. The culinary experience will be led by Chef Eiji Ono-yama, formerly of Kikunoi. The facility aims to integrate local ingredients from nearby fishing ports and the company’s own farm, ‘Noen Garden Sora’, into its dining offerings.
